Clark's got supersenses and he knows how to use them; I'm going to check with you before he picks up on anything specific unless your character is telegraphing hard.

Name: Danii Age: 38 Contact: gamenotifications @ gmail / yarnzipan @ plurk Timezone: EST Other Character(s): NOPE |
Name: Clark Kent Door: Door Pass [TDM] Canon: DC Comics Canon Point: post War of the Supermen Age: 36 Appearance: 6'3''; tall, muscular, with black hair and electric blue eyes. These are usually hidden behind glasses which he uses to cut the color as the actual color is somewhat brighter than would be considered 'human'. He has moderate body hair and tends to go cleanshaven. [see here | here] History: Here. CR AU (Optional): N/A Personality: Positive Trait: Inspiring Clark is someone who endeavors always to be a living example, to help show people what you can do in the world when you're willing to try and live up to your best self. More than that, though, he has a tendency to see the best in people and to encourage them to be their best selves; everyone from the lowliest janitor to the highest seats of power can always do better and contribute to the world in real and important ways. No one is too small for Clark to care about them or to look out for them and he does his best to show people the power and capability that people have right there just waiting to be tapped. Negative Trait: Codependent Not so much with an individual in a relationship but with the world: Clark will put himself and his needs second, ignore his own breaking mental or physical health, if it means taking care of the world, going out and saving people. While obviously a desire to be heroic and to use his powers to help others is a good thing, the level to which he often takes responsibility for bad things happening or even just feels responsible can be unhealthy and that can lead to him making bad decisions and even lean into a martyr complex. In balance to his inspiring nature, Clark rarely understands what harm done to him and the potential of losing him can do to other people and how much damage he can do by pretending that his own needs and wants don't matter, both when it comes to other people and to his relationships. Superman: Grounded is an entire arc that explores a lot of this, dealing with how Clark feels overly responsible for the world at large to the point where he walks through the country, unwilling to fly. It's a gesture, and in some ways a meaningful one, but ultimately it all stems from a fear that he's disconnected and that people hate and distrust him because of his power, that he has to practically do penance for existing and that the concept of Superman is itself some sort of ego-driven thing instead of an important source of inspiration and hope for a lot of people. He's so focused on his responsibilities he doesn't even see the good he's doing. Negative Trait: Naive Part of seeing the best in people is occasionally lacking the ability to see the worst in them. Despite working as an investigative journalist and technically knowing how the world works, he has a soul-deep belief in the inherent goodness of people that can blind him to people's faults and make him willing to give people more chance than they really deserve. He's not particularly good at figuring out or understanding the depths of depravity or selfishness that people can get to; he knows it happens because he's seen it, experienced it, deals with villains on a daily basis, but it's still not something he actually understands and thus, he's often surprised by it and caught off guard. A really good example of this is how in Superman/Batman Public Enemies, Lex Luthor manages to manipulate Clark into looking incredibly belligerent to the public and even frames him for killing a villain because he doesn't consider that there'd be cameras and he decides to vent his spleen since they're technically 'alone'. The whole thing comes off incredibly bad once Lex cuts it just right and really, Clark should have known better. Negative Trait: Stubborn When Clark, either as himself or Superman, decides he's standing his ground, getting him to move or change his mind is nigh on impossible. There's even at least one case where standing his ground had Batman quitting the Justice League and starting a completely different team. His stubborn nature can be a good thing in a battle where he just won't quit or go down, but when combined with his naivete especially, can lead to situations where he didn't see or realize something and stubbornly held to values that don't apply and are actively harmful.
